Whaddya need?

*The following is the next in the critically acclaimed and highly successful series, "letters from Ben"*

Hello.

How are you?

That's good. (Unless the response wasn't positive, of course. In that unhappy case, please accept my condolences).

HOLD THE PHONE , FOLKS. I just got an update that said that a choke Joe fest was just performed. That is an action that deserves the highest possible praise. I commend you on your bravery and valor.

Sorry for the interruption. We will now bring you back to your regularly scheduled email.

This week was, mostly, filled with more of the same. We did a lot of finding. Mostly going around town, knocking on doors. We've given out a lot of materials, but nobody has actually invited us back. There was one minor miracle, though. We received a referral from some other missionaries, and a few evenings ago we were near his house, so we decided to stop by and see if we could set up an appointment or something. Literally as we were driving to his house, he gave us a call. We have a teaching appointment with him on Thursday. Or, I should say my companions do. I will be on exchanges with the zone leaders at that time, so I will actually be missing what would be my first ever teaching visit. So, that's a bit of a bummer.

Some other stuff happened too. I believe I mentioned last week that we'd be having dinner with a few members on Tuesday. Well, we did. We went to a restaurant. I'm fairly certain that it was authentic chinese food, though, for a number of reasons.
1)The people who took us were from china.
2) my companions and I appeared to be the only non-chinese people in the whole place.
It was one of those things where we ordered a bunch of different dishes, and then just kind of passed them around the table. It was all really good. One of my companions did get made fun of a little, though, because wanted to order beef and broccoli. It was amusing.

We also had a dinner with members yesterday. These were from one of the English speaking wards. They made hamburgers. It was pretty good. I was really given a throwback, though, when I saw something that they had. It was a puzzle. A puzzle that, in another life, it seems, we had. It was one of those ones with big, cardboard pieces, and the picture was of dinosaurs. The main one was a large, orange and black striped T-rex in the middle. Those were the days, am I right?

So. I see that the moment I leave, Parker Van Dyke turns into Larry Bird and starts nailing buzzer-beaters to cap off 22-point comeback victories. That's fun, I guess. The Jazz seem like there doing alright too, from what you've said. What are the standings looking like, if I may ask?

Ok, forgive me brothers. I'm quickly going to slip in something. I read a talk this week. I then watched it, because, when that talk is by Elder Holland, there is a distinct difference between watching and reading. I recommend it to you. It's called "safety for the soul" and was given in 2009 or something. "I hear it's... quite a thing to see."

Well, that seems to be about all that comes to mind for this week. You'll hear from me in seven days, but until then, farewell.

P.S. I feel like referencing a random football fact.

P.P. S. here it is: remember the good old days when Earl Campbell ran through an entire defense, and was brought down only after leaving a trail of destruction that included his Jersey, which was torn off by an opposing player during the run?
