"It was only twenty five cents... How bad can it be?"
Quote of the week explanation
I speak now by way of warning. I beseech you, if you value your own comfort and well-being do not ever purchase or consume the Sour Patch Kids cereal. You will suffer if you do so.
Let me go back a little bit. On the few liberating occasions on which we are allowed to leave our apartment to go grocery shopping, we've often noticed a veritable tower of boxes of cereal, namely of the variety already mentioned above. My companion and I imagined that it probably wasn't too great, seeing how much of it they still had in stock in comparison to the other types of cereal, and seeing also that they had begun a promotion selling each large box for a dollar. Well, we didn't think much of it until the next week, when we returned to the store and discovered that the tower was still ominously looming over the aisle, but the price now had gone down; two for a dollar. Still, our only thoughts were on how terrible that cereal must be if they are driving the prices down that low. But still, we went on our merry way not thinking much of it. The next week (which was this last week) we returned to the store again, to find the mountain of boxes still there, but now the price read... 4 for 97 cents. So we bought a box for a quarter. And it was just as bad as we thought it would be, so we dropped it off at the zone leaders place for them to... Enjoy...
Well, that was more than you wanted to hear on that particular subject.
But when you're stuck inside all the time you kinda have to reach to find anything evenly mildly interesting to say.
Anyhoo, another week having been jotted in the books; this one was probably the best so far out of our weeks in shelter in place. We actually found someone, so that was exciting.
We had been going through the missionary records and contacting every person who was formerly being taught via phone. That kind of work is often not the most effective (depending on your language program), and we hadn't been met with much success after a multitude of calls. We called one name that didn't seem particularly special, and he said he was busy and we could call him in a week. That was two weeks ago, so this week we gave him a call again and had a really good conversation. He had met with missionaries a while back and they seem to have fallen out of contact, but he's still open to learning and invited himself to read the Book of Mormon, since he already has a copy. So we've got a lesson scheduled over the phone for this week, and we're hoping that we can get some things moving.
And other than that experience, nothing else you'd want to read about happened. Who knows if you even wanted to read about that, but I try. The weeks continue to grind by, and the days are flowing now in the same manner as they used to. All that being said, I now come to bid thee farewell.
Bye
Ben
P.S. For he's a jolly good fellow
P.P.S. I recall with tenderness the days in which we were able to actually leave our home without fearing the wrath of the Lord
P.P.P.S. "Fear not, and be just, for the Kingdom is ours; the hour of redemption is near."
